2023: EFCC denies advising INEC not to sell forms to some aspirants

The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC, has denied stories that its Government Chairman, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa suggested the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC to not promote nomination kinds to any aspirant who has a file with the company, towards the 2023 basic election.

The Fee in a press release by its Head, Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren on Saturday acknowledged that the report was false and urged Nigerians to ignore it.

Uwujaren maintained that Bawa has neither met with INEC officers nor made any pronouncement regarding elections since he was appointed.

The company identified that in Bawa’s two public outings, he spoke about points regarding his imaginative and prescient for the EFCC and the outlook for the combat towards corruption in Nigeria.

It additional acknowledged that qualification for elective political workplaces in Nigeria are clearly acknowledged within the 1999 Structure and related sections of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).
