The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Affiliation of Nigeria (MACBAN) has written to the Police over assaults on Fulanis in Anambra State.
MACBAN stated there was growing violence towards herdsmen round Ayamelum, Anambra East, Orumba South, Dunukofia LGAs.
The South Jap Zone Chapter reported the matter to the Deputy Inspector Normal of Police, E Division, Drive Headquarters.
The letter signed by the Zonal Chairman, Gidado Siddiki, stated the assaults resulted in casualties.
The formal grievance acknowledged that 30 Fulani herders and 322 cows are lacking.
“The lives of members of MACBAN are in peril in components of those involved communities.
“We due to this fact ask on your pressing interventions to forestall additional lack of lives and properties,” it learn.
Assaults on civilians and safety operatives in Anambra have elevated recently.
On Thursday, gunmen killed policemen, troopers, burned a van and carted away their arms.
