A 54-year-old man, Olatokunbo Williams, who allegedly defrauded a girl of N7.5 million, on Monday appeared in an Ota Magistrates’ Courtroom in Ogun.
The police charged Williams, whose deal with was not supplied, with two counts of fraud and acquiring cash below false pretences.
The prosecution counsel, Insp Abdulkareem Mustapha, advised the courtroom that the defendant dedicated the offence between 2018 and 2021 at about 11.45 a.m, at Aderenle Secondary College Street, Ota, Ogun.
Mustapha mentioned that the defendant collected N7.5 million to help the complainant, Osanyintile Funke, to get into political workplace.
The defendant, he mentioned, transformed the cash to his private use.
The offence, he mentioned, contravened the provisions of sections 390 (2) and 419 of the Prison Code, Legal guidelines of Ogun,2006.
The defendant, nonetheless pleaded, not responsible to the cost.
The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mr O.L. Oke admitted the defendant to bail within the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
Oke ordered that the sureties should reside inside the courtroom’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with proof of tax cost to Ogun Authorities.
