Abuja plane crash: Air Force confirms 7 personnel dead, orders investigation

The Nigeria Air Drive has confirmed that seven personnel died on board a navy plane which crashed at Abuja Airport on Sunday.

DAILY POST had reported that the navy plane, King Air 350 crashed on Sunday morning on the runway of Abuja airport.

Confirming the incident, Air Drive Director of public relations and data, Air Vice Marshall Ibikunle Daramola, disclosed that an investigation has been ordered to find out reason behind aircraft crash.

He urged public to stay calm as he commiserated with households of deceased.

On his official Twitter web page, he wrote: “That is to verify {that a} Nigerian Air Drive (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i plane crashed whereas returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. First responders are on the scene. Sadly, all 7 personnel on board died within the crash.

“ The Chief of the Air Employees (CAS), @CAS_IOAmao, has ordered a direct investigation into the incident.

“Whereas urging most of the people to stay calm and await the end result of investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all NAF personnel, commiserates with the households of the deceased.”
