Members of the Nationwide Meeting from Anambra State on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA have resolved to help former Central Financial institution Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to clinch the ticket of the celebration for the November governorship ballot.
This was revealed on Thursday throughout a gathering of the caucus with the state govt committee of the celebration when the previous Central Financial institution boss visited the state celebration secretariat in Awka.
Representatives of the APGA Nationwide Meeting Caucus, Hons Chinedu Obidigwe and Dozie Nwankwo who each represents Anambra East/ Anambra West and Anaocha, Njikoka, Dunukofia federal constituencies respectively disclosed the decision whereas addressing the state executives of the celebration.
Obidigwe stated, “In 2013, Soludo was disqualified by the celebration as an aspirant of APGA and he took it in good religion. He was not among the many aggrieved aspirants who determined to play a spoiler sport for the celebration.
“We’ve got been begging Soludo to run, and in the present day he has accepted to run. All members of the Nationwide Meeting caucus from APGA have resolved that we’ll help him. Only one or two persons are disagreeing with this however you recognize that almost all carries the vote.
Soludo has remained constant within the celebration. In 2017 when Governor Willie Obiano was working for reelection, it was this similar Soludo that insisted that Anambra (beneath Obiano) was not damaged, so there was no purpose to fix it. Willie is working and Soludo will consolidate on his achievements when he is available in,” Obidigwe stated.
In supporting him, Nwankwo added that “Soludo is one man who recognized me a very long time in the past. He loves shiny youths, he recognized me early sufficient and supported my aspiration to go to the Home of Representatives. I cannot solely help him by phrases of mouth however with my sources and youthfulness.”
Earlier, Prof. Soludo whereas notifying the celebration of his intention to run for the governorship seat of Anambra State stated the November 2021 governorship election was essential to the survival of the APGA as a celebration.
“This election is consequential in Anambra State and if APGA doesn’t win, it means the celebration is gone. No APGA member ought to toy with this election. If APGA leaves Anambra it has misplaced route. Don’t make errors within the individual the celebration fields for the election as a candidate as a result of the celebration can not afford to lose the election.”
He stated the collective future of the celebration is at stake and have to be protected by all means.
