The Police in Kebbi State have confirmed the killing of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), eight different policemen and two Yan Sa-Kai operatives (vigilantes) by bandits.
All of them died throughout a gun struggle in Sakaba Native Authorities Areas on Sunday.
Public Relations Officer, DSP Nafi’u Abubakar informed the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident occurred round 14:30 hours.
The bandits hit Dankolo, Sakaba, Makuku, Dokar Kambari and Kurmin Hodo villages of Sakaba LGA. The attackers too have been mentioned to have suffered casualties.
A resident, Salisu Adamu mentioned: “They killed DPO Jimoh Abdullahi, policemen and two ’Yan sa Kais’. Please we’d like your prayers. They killed seven individuals in Inana village alone.”
He disclosed the assailants carted away hundreds of cattle from Dankolo, Sakaba, Makuku, Dokar Kambari and Kurmin Hodo villages.
“They began capturing sporadically which prompted the village individuals to flee for security in several instructions.”
Husseini Bala, one other resident of Dirin Daji, confirmed the policemen went lacking after the assault.
