The Nigeria Union of Lecturers, NUT, has threatened to withdraw all lecturers’ companies within the affected states of the federation attributable to insecurity within the nation.

NUT in an announcement tagged:” Terrorist Assault on Faculties and Abduction of College students/Lecturers One Incident Too Many”, signed by its Common Secretary, Dr Mike Ike Ene, suggested the federal authorities to undertake a distinct strategy in tackling insecurity within the nation.

The Union expressed worries over the growing state of insecurity in Nigeria, stressing that colleges are quick changing into a hazard spot for bandits and different prison components in Nigeria.

NUT mentioned this as they condemned the kidnapping of scholars and lecturers of Authorities Science Secondary College, Kagara, in Niger State by bandits.

The union demanded a state of emergency be declared on safety, including that the present strategy being deployed by safety businesses was not yielding any significant fruit.
