President Muhammadu Buhari says his authorities will broaden the N-Energy programme from the current 500,000 beneficiaries to at least one million.
Buhari made the announcement in a message to commemorate the 2021 Employees’ Day celebration.
He mentioned the growth would guarantee job creation and poverty alleviation by programme akin to Security Web Programmes to cushion the results of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Nigerian chief listed some socio-economic insurance policies of his administration.
He talked about the rise of the Conditional Money Switch for the weak poor from 2.6 million households (13 million individuals) to 7.6 million households (about 32 million individuals).
Buhari mentioned the COVID-19 Fast Response Register (RRR) for city poor now has 4.8 million households (20 million individuals) which embody city poor/working class.
He added that his authorities arrange the Artisan Help Fund, Payroll Help Fund for small scale companies and Enterprise Formalisation to encourage medium enterprises by providing free registration with the Company Affairs Fee (CAC).
The President additional mentioned that the Nationwide Youth Funding Fund (NYIF) for entrepreneurs earmarked N75 billion for 3 years to help the labour power.
