Gobodo claimed that the racist advert printed on the corporate’s web site deeply affected her and influenced her determination to resign.

She stepped down from her prestigious place within the board on Monday this week.

In the course of the racist advert saga, she advised the media that she had earlier warned the retailer to watch out of the way in which they work together with their black prospects.

The controversial advert offered black hair as dry, frizzy and broken whereas it offered blonde hair as regular.

Gobodo defined that she is leaving the corporate as a result of the racist incident contradicts the worth of one other initiative which she works with.

The initiative focuses on addressing racism and empowering girls.

“What occurred final week could be very unhappy. It affected me personally as a black lady.”

“I felt disrespected by that advert and it’s one thing that I can not deny how I felt across the advert. The advert affected me deeply as a black lady.”
