A Chief Magistrates’ courtroom sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan on Wednesday, ordered that three members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly killing a 45-year-old girl and setting a home belonging to Abdullahi Wakili on hearth in Oyo State.
The police charged Awodele Adedigba, 45; Dauda Kazeem, 38, and Hassan Ramon, 33, with three counts of conspiracy, homicide and arson.
The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mr Olaide Hamzat, didn’t take the plea of the suspects, for need of jurisdiction.
He, due to this fact, ordered that they be remanded in Abolongo Correctional facility, Oyo city.
Hamzat ordered the police to return the case file to the workplace of the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
He adjourned the matter till April 21, for point out.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Insp Opeyemi Olagunju instructed the courtroom that the suspects on March 7, at about 8 a.m. at Kajola village, Ayete, allegedly triggered the loss of life of a 45-year-old girl.
He mentioned that Awodele, Dauda and Hassan allegedly set hearth to the home of the Ibarapa “warlord” Abdullahi Wakili, inflicting harm of N5 million.
The offence, he mentioned, contravened the provisions of sections 316, 324, 443 and 516 of the Prison Code of Oyo State 2000, NAN reviews.
