Court remands 3 over alleged conspiracy, murder during Ekiti bye-election

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ on Monday, ordered the remand of Adeniji Olusola, 38, (m) Paul Folorunso, 45, (m) and Adebayo Serifat, 40, (f) on the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti over alleged conspiracy, homicide.

The defendants, whose handle was not offered are being tried for alleged conspiracy and homicide.

The police counsel, Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) Martins Akala, sought the order of the court docket to grant the prayer of the State Commissioner of Police as contained within the request earlier than the court docket.

The defendants conspired to homicide and homicide Babatunde Adeleye (m)and Bola Adebisi (f).

The DPP submitted that Part 26 Sub-Part L of the Administration of Felony Justice Guidelines 2020 and Part 211 of the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, which empowers the state to take over any prison matter at any stage earlier than the judgement is pronounced.

The Chief Justice of the Peace Courtroom, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, consequently, ordered the remand of the defendants on the correctional facility pending issuance of authorized recommendation.

He adjourned the case till April 19 for point out.
