The Democratic Alliance (DA) has defended its MPs Tsepo Mhlongo who was accused of buying booze in a liquor retailer throughout a digital parliamentary session.
DA’s chief Whip, Natasha Mazzone launched a press release to make clear that Mhlongo was not in a booze retailer.
She stated Mhlongo was at a Decide n Pay grocery retailer and never at a TOPS liquor retailer, as assumed by an EFF MP.
“Because of the unprecedented outrage directed in direction of Mr Mhlongo, he has now been compelled to go so far as to compile an affidavit to show that he was not in a liquor retailer,” she stated.
“The DA on no account justifies Mr Mhlongo not being totally attentive whereas being on the digital sitting.”
