Former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Celebration, PDP, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday warned of imminent hazard over the continual assaults on colleges within the nation.
Atiku warned that darkness awaits Nigerians if the assaults on colleges aren’t curbed.
He spoke whereas condemning the kidnapping of three college students of the College of Agriculture in Makurdi, Benue State yesterday.
The previous Vice President lamented that the most recent abduction was one too many.
In an announcement he titled: “Darkness Awaits Us If We Do Not Finish The Assaults on Our Citadels of Studying,” Atiku mentioned: “The kidnapping of but an unspecified variety of undergraduates of the Federal College of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, is one abduction too many.
“It marks each an unacceptable escalation and an enlargement of this menace, and we should not solely make sure that the kidnapped youths are rescued, however much more importantly, we should put in measures to forestall future reoccurrences.
“This should not be allowed to turn out to be our new regular. It’s time for us as a nation to face the fact that we have now an emergency on our fingers. A disaster that have to be decisively handled earlier than it snowballs into an existential disaster.
