An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court docket on Tuesday ordered the remand of a 35-year-old man, Deji Oke, within the correctional centre at Ado-Ekiti for the alleged rape of a minor.
The defendant, whose deal with was not offered, is beneath trial for alleged rape.
The prosecutor, Insp. Olubu Apata, narrated to the courtroom that the defendant dedicated the offence on Feb. 23 in Ado-Ekiti.
Apata stated the defendant defiled an 11-year-old woman.
In line with him, the offence contravened Part 31 of the Youngster Rights Legislation of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor urged the courtroom to remand the defendant in a correctional centre, pending issuance of authorized recommendation from the workplace of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The plea of the defendant was not taken.
In her ruling, the Chief Justice of the Peace, Mrs Adefumike Anoma famous that studies of rape and sexual assault on feminine kids had been now rampant, NAN studies.
