Following the killing of the standard ruler of Oruku Neighborhood, in Nkanu East Native Authorities Space of Enugu State, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Chidiebere Mba, on December 26, 2020, “topic of an on-going Judicial Fee of Inquiry”, and the current ugly homicide of the Vice Chairman of Oruku City Union Caretaker Committee, Chief Samuel Ani, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has imposed a curfew on the neighborhood.

A press release signed by the Commissioner for Info, Nnayelugo Chidi Aroh, disclosed that the curfew was imposed by Gov. Ugwuanyi, pursuant to Govt Order No. 2: 2021, dated twenty fifth February 2021.

Aroh said that the curfew, which is between the hours of 6pm to 6am each day, commences from 6pm, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 and ends at 6pm, on Wednesday, thirty first March, 202, within the first occasion.

The Info Commissioner additional said that “the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command has been directed to take all authorized measures to implement this order and make sure the arrest in addition to prosecution of the perpetrators of this heinous crime”.
