The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) on Monday arraigned a former Director Basic of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Benjamin Ezra Dikki.
He confronted Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory Excessive Courtroom, Abuja on 4 counts of alleged corruption and abuse of workplace.
Dikki was docked alongside his firm, Kebna Studios & Communications Restricted, for allegedly receiving about one billion Naira.
The cash was alleged gratification from Bestworth Insurance coverage Brokers for his position in facilitating the approval of excellent insurance coverage premiums and claims of deceased and incapacitated workers of Energy Holding Firm of Nigeria (PHCN).
The offence was opposite to Part 17(1)(a) of the Corrupt Practices and Different Associated Offences ACT, 2000 and punishable underneath Part (17)(c).
The defendants pleaded “not responsible’’ when the costs have been learn to them.
The prosecution counsel, Benjamin Menji requested the court docket for a date to begin trial and to remand the defendant at a Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) facility.
Dikki’s counsel, Abdul Muhammed urged the court docket to grant his consumer bail citing Part 158, 162 and 163 of the Administration of Prison Justice Act, ACJA.
Justice Halilu remanded the defendant in Suleja Correctional Centre and adjourned till March 3, for consideration of bail software.
