The Lagos State Police Command has re-arrested one Taiwo Sunmonu, 23, for alleged armed theft, 4 months after launch from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a press release signed on Sunday, stated that Sunmonu served a five-year jail time period earlier than his launch final November.
Adejobi defined that the suspect was arrested by police as he and his gang members had been robbing unsuspecting residents at Ajayi St., Oto Awori, Ijanikin, Lagos State.
“Different members of the gang fled however the suspect has confessed to the crime and different crimes he had participated in.
“After his arrest, one locally-made pistol and stay ammunition had been recovered from him.
“The Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the State Legal Investigation Division, Panti, Yaba for additional investigation and prosecution,” he stated.
Adejobi restated that the police is dedicated to constantly foil the actions and assaults of criminals within the state.
