The Ebonyi State Authorities, on Monday, decried the killings and destruction of lives and property in Ezza and Effium communities within the Ohaukwu Native Authorities Space of Ebonyi.
The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) recollects that the disaster between the 2 communities began in January as a consequence of a management tussle amongst members of the Nationwide Union of Street Transport Staff (NURTW) within the space.
The disaster had led to the arrest of some political leaders within the two communities by the state authorities by the safety companies.
The state governor, David Umahi, who spoke in Abakaliki earlier than his safety assembly with some stakeholders within the state, stated the killings and disaster weren’t good for a rising financial system.
Umahi urged the communities to embrace peace and dialogue, noting that no significant improvement may exist in an environment of conflict.

“We can’t obtain significant improvement with conflict. I urge the individuals to embrace peace and love each other.
“Many homes have been burnt, a number of individuals killed, and property destroyed over an issue that might be avoidable.

Umahi, nevertheless, expressed worries over the way in which some contractors engaged on varied roads within the areas had stopped work.
