The agrarian neighborhood of Akunu-Akoko in Akoko South West Native Authorities Space of Ondo State was over the weekend held within the jugular by kidnappers.
The abductors who have been armed to the tooth had kidnapped some travellers locally and whisked them into the bush after sporadic gunshots to scare residents.
Nonetheless, the gunshots didn’t deter hunters, vigilante teams and youths locally as they launched a manhunt to rescue the travellers who have been seven in quantity.
With their information of the terrains of the neighborhood, the hunters and the vigilante have been mentioned to have caught up with the abductors who fired photographs at them.
Following the alternate of gunfire between the abductors and the hunters, one of many kidnappers was mentioned to have been killed which compelled the opposite gang members to desert their victims and take to their heels.

“The gun duel led to the dying of 1 kidnaper whereas others fled. And the seven travellers have been rescued unharmed.”
Whereas confirming the event, the Police Space Commander for Ikare-Akoko, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Razak Rauf mentioned the stays of the lifeless kidnapper had been deposited within the mortuary of a public facility within the native authorities.
