Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, has dismissed claims that President Muhammadu Buhari has marginalized individuals of the Southwest.

Ngige mentioned Igbos have held delicate positions just like the Inspector Normal of Police, Secretary to the Authorities of the Federation, Finance and Financial Planning Minister, amongst others.

He mentioned regardless of holding delicate positions in authorities, Igbo individuals have failed to make use of their place to develop the Southwest.

Talking in Anambra State on Monday, the Minister charged individuals of the Southeast to cease blaming the president for his or her failures within the Southeast.

He mentioned: “I’m not saying that giving delicate positions to Igbo beneath Buhari regime isn’t good.

“I’m saying that Igbo individuals have held delicate positions such because the Inspector Normal of Police, Secretary to the Federal Authorities, Finance and Financial Planning Minister, and many others, however didn’t use the positions for the welfare of Igbo nation.

“Igbo individuals within the Diaspora are indignant with Nigeria due to the form of feedback emanating from the South East over Buhari’s appointments.

“It isn’t true there isn’t any Igboman among the many service chiefs. The Chief of Defence Employees, Fortunate Onyenucheya is an Igbo. Chibuike Amaechi is an Igbo. It isn’t even correct to inform our brothers from the South-South that they don’t seem to be Igbo individuals.

“They fought on the aspect of the Igbo through the civil struggle, and so they suffered casualties. Right this moment, we’re telling them they don’t seem to be Igbo. It isn’t good.”
