The Kano State Authorities says it has arrested 200 avenue beggars and almajiris for allegedly violating the legislation banning avenue begging within the state.
The Commissioner for Ladies Affairs and Social Improvement, Dr Zahra’u Muhammad-Umar, made this recognized to newsmen on Monday, NAN stories.
In accordance with her, the ministry arrested the beggars and almajiris in Kano metropolis with 60 per cent being girls, youngsters and males, and 30 per cent almajiris.
