Lagos: Police sanctions DPO, officers for allowing clubbing

Not less than, 113 individuals have been arrested for violating COVID-19 protocols in Lagos, in opposition to authorities pointers.

The suspects have been arrested for nightclubbing within the state, an exercise stated to be a serious distributor of the virus.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, paraded the violators on the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, on Monday.

The state police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated the violators have been arrested on Sunday at Garbana Membership, Ajao Property and DNA Membership, Victoria Island, by police operatives, together with the Lagos State Taskforce led by the Commander, CSP Sola Jejeloye.

Odumosu, whereas parading the suspects, vowed to go after membership homeowners and their landlords, who contravene the city planning approvals of the state by changing their properties meant for different functions to nighttime golf equipment, Oyeyemi stated.

He emphasised the necessity to make the suspects scapegoats to function a deterrent to others within the state.

In the meantime, the Commissioner of Police had pronounced the deployment of the DPO of Ajao Property and his senior officers for permitting evening clubbing and violation of different COVID-19 protocols within the space.
