A Limpopo man have been served his reward for committing atrocities linked to gender-based-violence.
The 33-year-old man from No person village close to Mankweng was discovered responsible of raping a 12-year-old woman who was apparently his niece.
The Mankweng regional courtroom on Monday sentenced the accused to life in jail for rape.
The accused identify was withheld to guard the sufferer’s id.
Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe defined how the drunk uncle took benefit of his niece on February 1 2019.
“On that day, at about 8pm, the accused arrived residence drunk and demanded meals from the sufferer as her mom was out to the native spaza store.”
“After consuming, he then went to the sufferer’s room bare and dragged her to his room and raped her,” Ngoepe mentioned.
“The next day, the sufferer reported the incident to her mom who didn’t imagine her and no motion was taken towards the accused,” he added.
A household battle broke out few days after the incident occurred.
The sufferer collectively together with her mom and siblings had been compelled to depart their uncle’s residence and search refuge in one other relative’s residence.
