A Chief Magistrates’ Court docket in Ikeja, in Lagos State has ordered {that a} 47-year-old father, Tom Godswill, needs to be remanded on the Ikoyi Custodial Centre for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter.

NAN experiences that Godswill was charged with defilement.

Chief Justice of the Peace A.O Ajibade, who didn’t take the plea of Godswill for lack of jurisdiction stated he remanded the defendant pending the recommendation from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Ajibade adjourned the case till March 22.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, ASP Kehinde Ajayi informed the court docket that Godswill allegedly dedicated the offence someday in November and December, 2019 at No.16, Julianah Lawson Avenue in Alagbado space of Lagos.

Ajayi stated that the minor informed her college instructor that her father had allegedly defiled her.

The prosecutor stated that the instructor reported to the varsity counsellor, who reported the case to the suitable authorities.

She stated the offence contravened the provisions of Part 137 of the Felony Regulation of Lagos State, 2015.
