Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has accused the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Affiliation of Nigeria, MACBAN, of planning to remove him.
Ortom stated the management of MACBAN focused him and had been planning to remove him.
He spoke after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari on the State Home, on Tuesday.
Governor Ortom disclosed that his attorneys would petition MACBAN’s management.
“My lawyer goes to make a petition in opposition to the management of MACBAN as a result of they got here out to focus on me and behind the scene, they’re planning to remove me in my very own land.
“If I can’t go to the farm as governor with complete safety round me then who else can go to the farm? You may think about the pains that we now have right here in Benue State,” Ortom acknowledged
Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen had final Saturday attacked Governor Ortom at Tyo Mu alongside Makurdi/Gboko highway.
The governor, who was attacked whereas on his farm, nonetheless, escaped following intervention by his safety operatives.
The Fulani Nationality Motion, FUNAM, had claimed accountability for the assault.
FUNAM had accused the governor of standing in opposition to the Fulani agenda.
