Mobile court sentences 33 for flouting COVID-19 protocols in Benin

A Cellular Courtroom in Benin, the Edo State capital, on Friday convicted 33 folks for flouting the coronavirus protocols within the State.

NAN stories that the prosecuting counsel, Mr G. O. Odeyibo advised the courtroom that the 33 accused who subsequently pleaded responsible have been arrested inside the Benin metropolis.

Oyedibo mentioned that 21 accused individuals have been arrested for not carrying face masks and for failing to take care of social gaps in public as directed by the Federal authorities.

In line with him, six out of the 33 individuals have been arrested for not disposing their wastes correctly at Oba Market.

Delivering judgement, Chief Justice of the Peace Rusberth Imafidon convicted the 21 face masks violators and directed them to do group service for 3 hours every day for 2 days with none choice of fantastic.

He additionally sentenced the six convicts, who didn’t dispose their wastes correctly on the Oba Market, to do group service of three hours for sooner or later.

The Chief Justice of the Peace identified that doing group service was in tune with non-custodian sentence.
