The Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Imo has mentioned it arrested 50 individuals over pipeline vandalism within the state.
The Commandant of the corps within the state, Danjuma Elisha, disclosed this in Owerri on Tuesday in an interview with newsmen, NAN reviews.
Elisha mentioned petroleum pipeline vandalism is a menace that has negatively affected Nigeria’s financial system.
He mentioned that each effort have to be made to make sure that the nation’s financial system is preserved.
“Below my watch, we’ve arrested 50 petroleum pipeline vandals.
“Pipeline vandalism is a menace and should not be allowed to cripple the nationwide financial system.
“The Command will do its greatest to make sure that this difficulty is curtailed,” he mentioned.
