The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has dispelled rumours that one of many three flyover bridges he constructed and named legacy initiatives was collapsing.
The flyover is situated alongside the Enugu-Onitsha expressway in Awka, Anambra State.
The state Commissioner for Works, Marcel Ifejiofor who represented the Governor throughout a Thursday morning inspection tour mentioned the Aroma flyover is robust and protected, opposite to the insinuations and scaremongering on social media that the bridge was collapsing.
Ifejiofor who took journalists across the bridge said that the alleged cracks being posted round as an indication that the bridge was collapsing had nothing to do with the integrity of the bridge, because it stays strong.
“The hole is on the facet embankment on the Enugu strategy which has made scaremongers to shout was added following an accident involving an enormous lorry on the Kwatta bridge.
“The Aroma bridge was constructed to international customary, and the enlargement is an intrinsic a part of bridge building and doesn’t point out a crack.
