To take part within the July 24 native authorities elections, the Ogun State Impartial Electoral Fee (OGSIEC) has requested chairmanship candidates to pay a sum of N200,000.

The Chairman of OGSIEC, Babatunde Osibodu, disclosed this on Tuesday at a press convention he addressed on the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.

Osibodu mentioned, “The Electoral Legislation 2007 offers for cost of a non-refundable deposit by intending candidates.”

He revealed that “For Chairmanship candidates, this price has been set as N200,000 whereas for Councillorship candidates, it’s N100,000.”

Nonetheless, Osibodu mentioned ladies taking part within the election wouldn’t pay a dime.
