Ogun: Suspected cultists arrested for attacking vigilante in Ijebu

The police in Ogun State mentioned it arrested “two members of Aiye confraternity on Sunday, over their involvement within the assault of a vigilante.

Police disclosed that the suspects’ arrest adopted a report lodged at Ijebu-Igbo divisional headquarters by one Salami Azeez.

Azeez had reported that whereas he was on responsibility as a vigilante at Aleke space of Ijebu-Igbo, about 1:30am, he noticed three boys transferring across the space; and when he challenged them about their mission at that ungodly hour, they allegedly attacked him with an iron rod, inflicting critical damage on his head.

Consequent upon this, the DPO of the Ijebu-Igbo division, SP Kazeem Solotan, mobilized his patrol workforce and moved to the scene the place two of the suspects – Balogun Opemipo (26 years outdated) and Korede Onabanjo (27 years outdated), had been arrested, and the third one escaped.
