Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has accredited the discharge of the sum of Seven Hundred and Eight Million Naira (N708,000,000) to additional offset pension arrears of retired officers of the State civil service.
The arrears the federal government famous is a part of his dedication to enhance the welfare of retired civil servants and employees of the State.
This adopted the discharge of 1 billion, 2 hundred thousand Naira for pension settlement through the Christmas and New Yr Celebrations; the discharge of one other seven hundred and eight million Naira in February to additional offset pension arrears; and the presentation of bond certificates of N963 million to 143 retirees in February.
In a press launch signed by the Head of Service, Dr. Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade, the sum of 5 hundred and eight million Naira (N508,000,000) of the launched sum was accredited for the cost of retired civil servants, whereas an extra sum of 100 and fifty million Naira (N150,000,000) was accredited for the cost of retirees below the contributory pensions scheme.
He added that an extra fifty million Naira was accredited for the cost of gratuities of retired officers below the outdated pension scheme.
In accordance with the discharge, the record of beneficiaries of the accredited sum has been pasted on the discover board of the Ministry of Info and Civic Orientation, the State’s Pension Bureau and the Workplace of the Head of Service.
