Osun govt threatens to shut Steel Mill over pollution

The Osun Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, Human Rights Violations and Associated Further Judicial Killings, on Friday stated it has disposed of 23 instances out of 34 petitions earlier than it.

The chairman of the panel, Justice Akin Oladimeji (rtd.), disclosed this on Friday in Osogbo whereas talking with journalists.

He disclosed that it reserved its suggestions as a part of efforts to make sure justice and sufficient compensations for all.

The retired Justice stated the panel reserved its suggestions in a few of the instances already concluded consistent with judicial process.

Justice Oladimeji, who reaffirmed the dedication of the panel to make sure equity and fairness in all of the petitions introduced earlier than it, stated members of the panel had been working rigorously to make sure sufficient compensations to these with good instances.

A petitioner, Chief Jelili Adegoke Raheem, had voluntarily withdrawn his petition earlier than the panel following his determination to settle the matter.
