Former Presidential candidate of the African Motion Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has requested college students in Delta State to demand for the £4.2m looted property by a former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori.
The British Excessive Commissioner to Nigeria, Ms. Catriona Laing on Tuesday expressed the nation’s readiness to return looted property price £4.2 million to Nigeria recovered from Ibori’s family and friends members.
Nigeria’s Legal professional Normal and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, signing for Nigeria, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the returned loots be deployed for the completion of the second Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and the Abuja to Kano expressway.
Nonetheless, Sowore in a put up on his Twitter web page mentioned the repatriated funds by Ibori must be spent on colleges within the state and never on federal authorities initiatives.
The tweet reads: “The recovered loot must be used to pay college students of upper establishments in Delta . They need to demand that the £4.2m Ibori loot being repatriated from the UK should be spent on colleges within the state as an alternative of accepting to pay exorbitant faculty charges just like the N150k being charged at Delta State College. It’s your cash.”
