The Peoples Democratic Social gathering, PDP, has weighed in on the rift between Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his counterpart, Governor Bala Mohammed.
DAILY POST had reported that Gov Ortom had accused Mohammed of becoming a member of forces with killer herdsmen to remove folks residing in his State and another components of the nation.
Governor Ortom, who stated he was not prepared to hitch points with the Governor, was reacting to Mohammed’s remark defending Fulani herdsmen who use AK-47.
Mohammed had stated Fulanis herdsmen carry AK-47 to defend themselves within the forests.
However reacting, Ortom urged Mohammed to revisit his oath of workplace as a result of he had failed in maintaining his oath of defending the lives and properties of the folks.
In a response, the social gathering whereas calling for calm, stated it had intervened and reconciliation was ongoing.
A tweet on the PDP Twitter web page reads, ”PDP requires calm as the interior reconciliation mechanism launched by the hierarchy of the social gathering between the 2 governors subsists.
”PDP urges the Federal Authorities to take pressing steps to deal with the escalated safety challenges in our nation.”
