Nigeria Soccer Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, has been elected into the FIFA Council.
Pinnick emerged victorious on Friday on the CAF forty third normal assembly in Rabat, Morocco. He gained 43 votes to his opponent’s eight votes.
Minister of Youth and Sports activities, Sunday Dare, mentioned Nigeria and Africa has a further alternative to contribute to the administration of world soccer.
Dare’s congratulatory assertion was signed by his spokesman, John Joshua-Akanji.
The minister charged the NFF chief to make use of his new place to make Nigeria, African and World soccer better.
“That is the reward of arduous work and unity of function. We’re higher off after we assist our collective aspirations for the event of our nice nation. That is an honour effectively deserved,” he mentioned.
Dare thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, the Overseas Affairs Ministry, soccer stakeholders and Nigerians for the success.
Pinnick turns into the third Nigerian, after late Orok Oyo Orok and Amos Adamu, to occupy the FIFA council seat.
