The Police Command in Cross River State has threatened to deal ruthlessly with the organized labour in the event that they embark on its deliberate protest over the kidnap of their Chairman, Comrade Ben Ukpekpi.
In a press assertion issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Irene Ugbo, titled “PLANNED PROTEST BY THE NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS (NLC), CROSS RIVER STATE CHAPTER”, the command stated its is conscious of the ‘unscrupulous plans.’
“Cross River State Police Command is conscious of the unscrupulous plans by unguarded people to ignite the state’s fragile secured surroundings on the pretext of an organized kidnap of the State NLC Chairman.
“The command whereas working earnestly to rescue the sufferer won’t tolerate any distraction by these people who find themselves prone to be fingered in committing this act to set the State ablaze to cowl up their monitor.
“Any gathering based mostly on this incident won’t be taken evenly and there will probably be whole clampdown on the organizers. All good residents are warned to go about their lawful companies whereas we do all it takes to rescue the sufferer unharmed please,” the police added.
