The Police command in Imo State has arrested three individuals, who allegedly kidnapped the Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese, Bishop Moses Chikwe.
Spokesperson of the Police, Imo Command, Mr. Orlando Ikeokwu, disclosed this whereas parading the suspects on Wednesday.
He mentioned that the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command and the Fast Intervention Staff arrested the suspects at totally different places.
Ikeokwu gave the names of the suspects as; have been Peter Aluo, 28, Ihedum Ulunwa, 33 and Ngozi Osinachi, 26.
Based on him, the suspects had all confessed to committing the crime.
NAN stories that one of many suspects who spoke to newsmen, mentioned he regretted his involvement within the kidnapping of the bishop.
“Once I realized that the person is a Bishop, I suggested my gang to launch him, however our superior insisted that he could be kidnapped.
“He was launched after 4 days with out paying for any ransom, however we initially demanded for N10 million,” he mentioned.
Recall that Bishop Chikwe was on December 27 kidnapped alongside his driver on the World Financial institution in Owerri.
