Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has urged Nigerians to cease referring to troopers as Muslims or Christians.
Sen. Sani in a Twitter put up warned that such would result in the sowing of spiritual seeds within the minds of the troop.
It could be recalled that controversial cleric, Shiek Gumi not too long ago made some non secular divisive statements on the Nigerian Military.
“What I need you individuals to know is, troopers which might be concerned in many of the criminalities will not be Muslims. You understand, troopers have Muslims and none-Muslims. The non-Muslims are those inflicting confusion simply to ignite disaster,” Gumi mentioned.
Sani in his put up condemned the act of referencing troopers with their religion.
“Referencing our troopers as Muslims or Christians is a condemnable act. It’s divisive & poisonous. The safety challenges in our nation calls for a united motion and nationwide solidarity. Sowing the seeds of religiosity within the minds of our troops on the frontline is noxious & harmful,” Sani tweeted.
