Suleiman’s death: Reps want more safety at recreational parks

The Home of Representatives has requested the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to extend security requirements at leisure facilities within the FCT.

The decision was sequel to a movement moved by Kabir Idris on Wednesday throughout plenary.

Idris, in his movement, famous that such security measures will stop preventable deaths such because the one which claimed the lifetime of 10 years outdated, Grasp Khalifah Suleiman at an amusement park within the FCT.

In keeping with Idris, Suleiman died resulting from non-compliance with security measures by the operators of the park.

He disclosed that “Suleiman’s demise might have been avoidable if the instructors had ensured that he wore a protecting helmet earlier than getting on the Go-Karting with the seat belt mounted.”

Reacting to the movement, the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila expressed unhappiness on the tragic demise of the younger man.

The movement was taken with an modification to increase the scope of the protection requirements to all authorities institutions.
