The Ogun State Police Command, on Monday, confirmed the arrest of two suspects for allegedly kidnapping and killing a housewife and her son within the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi who made the affirmation in an announcement on Monday mentioned the victims have been killed for ritual functions.
He recognized the suspects as 29-year-old herbalist, Baoku Gbuyi and a 27-year-old bricklayer, Olamide Odulaja.
In keeping with the PPRO, the arrest adopted a report acquired at Ijebu Igbo division, from the sufferer’s husband, who reported that his spouse and son went out and and by no means returned, and efforts to find her and the little boy was futile.
He said that in interrogation, the suspect, Olamide confessed to the crime, saying he connived with one herbalist to kidnap the girl and her son.
Olamide famous that they murdered the victims for cash ritual on the herbalist’s home.
“He said additional that, it was the herbalist who burnt the girl’s head which he used for him and upon his confession, detectives went after the mentioned herbalist who resides in Arararomi, Jaoara, Ijebu Igbo.
“On attending to his residence, it was found that the herbalist had fled having heard concerning the arrest of Olamide.”
The police spokesman famous that the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, had ordered the speedy switch of the case to the state Felony Investigation and Intelligence Division for additional investigation and diligent prosecution.
